Our Process

The whole pine logs become clean white chips which in turn are super-condensed to produce a product that is ready to absorb moisture and become soft and comfortable in the stall. Because there are no additives, only the wood fibers (lignin) in the pine pellet, you can trust that the bedding will aid in creating an environment that is healthy for your horse. When preparing the stall, you will utilize some fresh water to effectively develop the pellet into a finer particle for the horse bed. Creating a higher density bedding means that it is quite comfortable and shock-absorbing for your horse. The pelletizing process has eliminated any oils and terpenes found in traditional pine shavings, resulting in a product that is allergen-free due to the high heat treatment. This pellet bedding is easy to clean and incredibly absorbent.
Virtually dust free
After the whole pine logs are debarked and made into clean white chips, the product is then run through a green screener and grinder. The chips are then dried with extreme heat, run through a dry screener and grinder, then pressed into pellets. A third finishing screener creates a product that is one of the lowest dust pine bedding procucts on the market.
Exceptional absorption
The highly compressed wood fibers create a strong and ultra-low moisture bedding product resulting in cleaner and drier stalls. Our premium pine pellets are 3-5 times more absorbent than traditional shavings.
Reduces waste volume
Fine bedding offers easier waste removal. The urine spot will clump and not spread. You will no longer dispose of shavings that are still good as you remove the manure because the bedding is easily sifted. Expect to see your consumption and disposal volume go down by at least half!
Here is what an Peter Moon, an environmental consultant and President of O2Compost, says about pine pellet horse bedding: "What you will definitely experience with any brand of wood pellet is a dramatic reduction of waste volume; often exceeding 60% to 70% when compared to shavings and considerably more when compared to straw. This point is of key importance in developing and implementing an effective manure management strategy." Read more here: http://www.o2compost.com/content/Bedding.htm
No additives
Our unique manufacturing process uses only whole pine logs. Unlike most other wood pellet manufacturers, our pellets do not contain any potentially hazardous wood waste, and are produced specifically for use as horse bedding. There are no chemicals or binding agents involved in the manufacturing process; the natural wood fibers act as binding agents, creating a truly environmentally friendly product. Additionally, the extreme heating process removes oils, volatile organic compounds and any potential allergens.
Easily composts
Premium 100% pine wood pellets are the next generation of horse bedding. You will be maximizing your profits when selling the high quality compost created with our product, while reducing money and time spent on stable management.
Decreases stall maintenance
The easier maintenance program will free up your time and money for other concerns! When picking the stall, only the manure is removed due to the pellet particle consistency. The exceptional absorption rate means the ammonia odor is contained, the floor of the stall remains dry, and the barn smells pine fresh.
